recycled cashmere

A new story of cashmere that transcends time.

Why recycled cashmere?

In the 1960s and 1970s, cashmere, with its exceptional softness and warmth, captivated people around the world as a true luxury for decorating coats and sweaters. As the sense of happiness it evokes and its comfort became a part of people's lives, desire for this beautiful material reached an all-time high.

However, while this material has become widely loved today, the land of Inner Mongolia, where it originates, is undergoing quiet change. Excessive grazing of cashmere goats has not only caused changes in the quality of the delicate fiber, but has also cast a shadow over the beautiful grasslands where they live, turning them into desert.

Craftsmanship called regeneration

To protect the future of Mongolian grasslands and cashmere goats, we took a deep look at our supply chain and found a way to breathe new life into this once-loved cashmere.

We carefully collect precious materials, such as scraps, before they are made into products. They are sent to a skilled sorting facility, beautifully separated by color, and then run through specialized machines to soften the fibers. By blending 5% virgin wool, we re-spin the yarn into the strength and texture that is characteristic of EDWARD BROWN.

Circulating Luxury

Cashmere and wool that would otherwise be thrown away are regenerated through technology and passion. Innovative approaches like Cash Pad help to expand the circle of recycling that we aim for.

Materials that have once fulfilled their purpose can once again be used to warm someone in the winter. Edward Brown hopes to expand this beautiful cycle and convey respect for nature and timeless value through more collections.
